As all of you know, each country has their own traditions pertaining to Christmas, and in some parts of the world, you hang the Christmas stocking on Saint Nicholas Day or on Christmas Eve, so that Saint Nicholaus or Santa Claus can fill it with toys, candies and fruits.
When I was a child, we used to clean a pair of boots on the evening before Saint Nicholas Day and hang our Christmas stockings in the hallway. This was always a very special, and sort of magical evening filled with joy and anticipation.
When we woke up the next morning, the boots were filled with chocolate, clementines and nuts and in the Christmas stocking were little presents. Though one year we got a rude letter from farmhand Rupert, a helper of Saint Nicholas, that we hadn’t behaved well…
